JESUS AND MARY MAGDALENE

Updated: Apr 4, 2023

Mark 16: 1 -11

1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.

2  And very early in the morning the first day of the week, they came unto the sepulchre at the rising of the sun.

3  And they said among themselves, Who shall roll us away the stone from the door of the sepulchre?

4  And when they looked, they saw that the stone was rolled away: for it was very great.

5  And entering into the sepulchre, they saw a young man sitting on the right side, clothed in a long white garment; and they were affrighted.

6  And he saith unto them, Be not affrighted: Ye seek Jesus of Nazareth, which was crucified: he is risen; he is not here: behold the place where they laid him.

But go your way, tell his disciples and Peter that he goeth before you into Galilee: there shall ye see him, as he said unto you.

8  And they went out quickly, and fled from the sepulchre; for they trembled and were amazed: neither said they any thing to any man; for they were afraid.

9  Now when Jesus was risen early the first day of the week, he appeared first to Mary Magdalene, out of whom he had cast seven devils.

10  And she went and told them that had been with him, as they mourned and wept.

11  And they, when they had heard that he was alive, and had been seen of her, believed not.

When we look at the scripture above we see that Jesus sent Mary Magdalene on an evangelistic mission. The ministry of an evangelist is to go and tell. What did Jesus say to Mary Magdalene in verse 7? BUT GO YOUR WAY AND TELL. He sent Mary Magdalene whom He had cast 7 devils out of. Why would He send a woman with her history to do something so important?? BECAUSE HE KNEW HE COULD TRUST HER TO DO IT! You see, even though Mary Magdalene had a colorful past, she had been delivered by the Lamb Himself. Her heart, mind and her very being was changed and renewed. She had been set free and no longer had any desire to live that life again. She was completely sold out to the one who and redeemed her. Jesus knew how grateful and how much she loved Him and He could completely trust her to complete this mission on His behalf. She was the first evangelist, a woman formally of ill repute, appointed by Jesus Himself.

Dear ladies, I am sharing this message to let you see no matter what you have done in your past Jesus loves you. When you surrender yourself to Him and let him wash you clean and restore you back to Him, all of the “stuff” of your past is washed away and He doesn’t even see it anymore nor does He want you to see it. It’s gone! He wants you to live for Him, commit the rest of your days to Him and love Him for all that He has done for you.

Sure you will have people from your past come to you or you’ll hear them say it behind your

back, “who does she think she is or I knew her when”, SO WHAT! Jesus knew you then and

knows you now. You are not who you used to be, you are now a daughter of the Most High

God, Jesus Christ Himself.

Turn right and keep straight on the path that Jesus has call you to!

Men the same applies to you, I focus on the woman because that is who we minister to right

now, women and small children. Prayerfully one day we will be ministering to fathers as well.

Verse 11 shows women can do some unbelievable things but we do it all the time.

SISTER, NOW DO IT! YOU CAN!

There’s an old song that says: I won’t let nobody turn me around, turn me around, I git to keep on travelin’, I got to keep on travelin’ on.

Let that be your new theme song.

God bless all who read this.
