Winter 2021

Mar 1, 2021

Hello everyone,

As promised, I want to keep you informed about what is happening at Harris Family Ministries, Inc.

In our January News and Appeal Letter, which also served as our opening fundraiser for the year, we asked for your prayers and financial support. We are grateful to report that the response has been very encouraging. For this, we say thank you, and above all, praise the Lord.

As shared in January, the House of Restoration project began in 2012. Over the years, several women and children have lived in our home-based program, and we have celebrated one graduation. Through experience, prayer, and evaluation, we have come to a clear understanding: my home is no longer adequate to meet the needs of the families we serve. The families deserve privacy, proper space for counseling, and a setting suitable for addressing the complex issues that arise in a residential recovery program.

Because of this, we are actively seeking a much larger facility. Since our last update, we have viewed five properties, all of which were sold before we could move forward. The real estate market in Pottstown and the Pottsgrove areas has been moving at an incredible pace. We have even expanded our search to Schwenksville.

Several years ago, a close friend shared a prophetic message with me regarding the House of Restoration. Last week, the Lord brought that message back to my heart. I am fasting and praying over it, seeking greater alignment with how God desires us to proceed. As a result, we are now focusing on larger properties than we previously considered. We believe this is the appointed time—no more delays. Harris Family Ministries exists for such a time as this.

This type of ministry is desperately needed. While the pandemic may be easing, the addiction epidemic is not. There is no vaccine for addiction. While clinics and medications may help reduce immediate harm and save lives—and we acknowledge and respect those efforts—they do not bring lasting freedom. Our mission is to offer a better way: the way of the cross.

Jesus came to save us and set us free from sin, and He also desires freedom from drugs, alcohol, and all mind-altering substances so that we may serve Him wholeheartedly. True freedom is found in walking with Christ.

We are blessed with a committed Board of Directors and an experienced Consultant, all of whom are determined to see this ministry established and sustained well beyond our lifetimes. With God’s help—and yours—we will accomplish this.

We ask that you please pray and seek the Lord about how He might have you partner with us. Even a commitment of $5 per month would make a meaningful difference. Every gift helps us move forward in our mission to save lives, restore families, and stop this epidemic before it reaches another generation.

Thank you for standing with us.

God bless you all.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
