Winter 2023

Mar 1, 2023

Dear Supporters, Friends, and Caring Hearts,

As we enter 2023, I want to update you on the work of Harris Family Ministries (HFM) and the steps we are taking to bring our vision to life. Behind the scenes, we have been diligently searching for a home to serve mothers and their children.

Because we are a faith-based ministry, securing grants can be challenging. We are committed to not opening our doors without the resources to sustain the program, as it would be devastating to the families we serve if funding ran out. We cannot allow mothers to begin seeing a better way of life only to have the program abruptly end. They need a strong foundation before they can succeed on their own.

We are reaching out to local and out-of-town churches as well as private individuals to help us secure the financial support needed to make this dream a reality.

As many of you know, HFM previously operated out of my home for three years, during which time we celebrated one graduation. While some donors may see this as modest progress, we understand the challenge of proving success on paper. However, having lost a son to addiction, I know firsthand the pain it brings. My heart aches for families struggling with addiction—especially the children, who are often the silent victims.

Consider the homes affected:

  • A single mother wrestling with addiction

  • Both parents struggling

  • One parent clean and one parent addicted

The trauma in these homes is profound, and in many cases, another generation is at risk. Since the pandemic, this epidemic has grown significantly, with thousands dying daily, leaving children to be raised by a single parent, grandparents, or the foster care system.

We urgently need your help.

We have an opportunity to secure a property very soon, but without steady funding, we cannot sustain it. Currently, our team volunteers their time and skills, but once the home opens, we will need at least three paid staff to operate effectively.

Your support can help us rescue lost and hurting lives, guide mothers toward recovery, and protect children from the devastating cycle of addiction.

To support our ministry:

Thank you for standing with us as we serve the King and minister to families in desperate need.

With gratitude and in His service, Harris Family Ministries, Inc.

I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
