HFM SPRING 2025 NEWSLETTER
"Breaking Chains. Building Legacy. Restoring Families."
Hello, Friends of Harris Family Ministries!
It’s been a while since we last shared an update, and we’re excited to tell you what God has been doing through House of Restoration.
Our journey to secure a dedicated home for mothers in recovery has been long and challenging—but filled with purpose. Years ago, we opened our doors from inside my own home, serving women who were ready to change their lives. Today, we continue to fight for that same vision—on a larger scale.
We’re thrilled to report that we are currently in promising talks with local officials and are closer than ever to purchasing a property! While previous opportunities have fallen through, this time we feel God moving powerfully. Please continue to keep us in your prayers as we take these next critical steps.
Why This Ministry Matters
Studies show that mothers are more likely to succeed in recovery when their children are present in a structured, supportive environment. At House of Restoration, we’ve seen this firsthand. One of our former participants is now attending college, earning her bachelor’s degree, and making the Dean’s List—proof that transformation is possible when families heal together. Her journey had tough moments, but with support from HFM and her family, she’s now thriving. We made a difference.
Our mission is about more than sobriety—it's about restoring the family unit and helping break the generational chains of addiction. With your help, we’ll continue this vital work.
Ongoing Ministry and Support Programs
While we await final approvals to open our recovery home, we are actively ministering through classes and events:
-
Hurting Moms Mending Hearts (at Christ Episcopal Church in Pottstown, PA)
A powerful support group for mothers dealing with children in addiction, founded by Cathy Taylor—a woman called out of addiction by God to serve others.
-
Yielding Hearts
A follow-up course to Hurting Moms, also created by Cathy Taylor, focused on surrender and deep healing.
-
Self-Help Class by Valerie Jackson
An inspiring and practical course to help women grow emotionally and spiritually.
-
Healing & Restoration Classes
Led by Pastor Sally Super, focusing on emotional and spiritual recovery.
These programs are not only for future residents of House of Restoration—they’re open to all women in the community who need healing and support.
Our recent Women’s Conference, "Breaking Chains: Healing & Deliverance," was a powerful and uplifting experience. The guest speakers delivered heartfelt, impactful messages that truly resonated with everyone in attendance. We’re incredibly grateful for their wisdom and spirit—and we’re already looking forward to next year’s conference!
How You Can Help

When our doors open, we’ll need faithful partners to help sustain our home—fuel, food, supplies, utilities, and more. This is a major undertaking, but we believe many hearts will say, “I want to help!”
Addiction is tearing apart families and taking lives—parents, children, even grandparents. I lost my own son to this heartbreaking battle. The pain never fully leaves, but God uses it to deepen our compassion. This ministry is personal. It’s urgent. And it’s for His glory.
We’re determined to be on the front lines—not just watching from the sidelines, but reaching in and pulling people out.
Thank you for reading, praying, and standing with us.
On behalf of the moms and families we serve, We say THANK YOU.
With love and purpose,
Rev. Harris
